Split pattern bellhousing th350 GM/BOP

Are these rare or a collectors item or weak? A guy i know has one that is good but wants to rebuild it for his Nova. I've seen bellhousings crack before and would hate to see a rare piece get broken. So...is it worth finding another tranny or...???

at least from around tucson, they r a "dime a dozen". they have worked just fine for the vehicles that i have used them in... now that may be a different story if u plan on using for a performance application... crosley would probably know.
i built 1 up for a 79 pontiac phoenix was a lockup case and i converted over to non-lockup. put it together in 2000, and just sold the car last summer and trans was still in great shape.

dime a Dozen!!!

Dime a dozen? I'll take a gross please! But really, if they aren't rare that's cool. I just didn't want to lose a rare piece(for example my buddy was taking in a load of aluminum scrap and i had to rescue an aluminum 4-speed bellhousing from it. They sell for upwards of $100 on e-bay!)
-Thanks
