With the trouble we have had using even 220 volt spot welders that cost 10-15 thousand dollars in the autobody industry I can't believe that a 110 volt is going to be any good at all. I think this is one of those dream machines that are left in the catalog.

I hope someone can offer you something who has actually had one but I personally can't see how they can work worth a darn.

We do have a new one that is computerized and was about $25K that is awesome though!

I've used a few and they work fine. However, their design limits their use and don't justify purchasing, IMO.

That's the thing, limits. I am thinking a couple of 18 gauge sheets are going to be too much for it. And three like on a rocker or something, forgetaboutit.

Agree, any structural welding won't hold if it takes at all.

Miller made nice ones, longer the arm less amps, and fit tight 1st then weld, so many try to pull it together with the spot welder. They do require some basic maintenance. We generally only do the spots if they show to be original. Plug welds with the mig is what do the most of now. tt
