If it's a spray "bomb", Laquer Thinner will take it off, but you gotta be quick about it or it may soften the good Paint underneath-if it's catalyzed, I'm afraid your sandpaper route may be your best bet-
Hopefully you'll have enough material left to buff it out afterwards-
