Does anyone have a good supplier for square weave carpet like the kind used in Mercedes and VW and Porche? I know that it is wool and would like to know how much it will set me back. I have seen it used in high end hot rods, and really like the look.

How hard is the square weave carpet to work with? I have done carpet kits before and they were very flexible and easy to fit. We are doing our 53 chevy pickup and also wanted to use square weave. How hard to bind this carpet, because I believe we will have to cut and sew to match the contour of the floor?

It's just a different weaving technique that produces a different look to the carpet, it really won't affect cutting it or binding it. The thickness of the carpet and what it's made from would affect how hard it is to cut or bind, not the weaving technique.

Thanks Dan, My wife is an expert seamstress and she owns a small embroidery business. I think she will be able to handle the binding for us! Her only concern was would one of her machines be powerful enough to do the sewing thru the binding and square weave carpet. She has done the ditch method before. She now says there is a special needle she can use. Nice to have a talented wife!!!! Thanks again, Nick
