Squeaking rubber shakle bushings
My 48 Ford Tudor Streetrod has a Ford 9 inch rear end mounted on parallel leaf springs. The rubber bushing in the shakles really make a lot of noise, I had the same problem last summer so replaced the bushing with new rubber bushings. Made sure everthing was clean. They started making the same noise this weend again. What can I do to prevent the rubber bushing from making so much noise?

take them apart again & use some anti-seaze or grease on them, thats what I had to do on a couple of cars I owned.........joe

agree w/above- especially the alignment check- if greased when installed they should not start squeaking unless humidity/wet weather causes the bolts not aligned to bind.
