squirrel cage fans for my garage "booth"

i picked up a little belt driven fan from a garage sale for $5!!!

anyways it blows air pretty good.........

i also have another BIG belt driven fan........

would these be a good source of airflow and exhaust for my garage PVC/plastic built paintbooth??????

or should i just stick with 3 box fans on the intake side going sorta fast.........then 2 box fans on the exhaust set to medium????

someone help me on this please

I have used the squirrel cage type for years and really like them, the main reason is that they can usually be acquired free from places that replace home furnaces. The thing I like best about them is that they push a lot of air at a low speed so they don't stir up a lot of dust and that the motor is not in the air stream with all of the possible explosive components in it (thinners and reducers). With a little messing around and some flexible duct work you can even have them positioned away from the work area. I have one that is still in the furnace cabinet that holds the filters for air input, another is on a stand with ducting for exhaust.
