Post SRP/JE pistons same company

SRP and JE are made by the same company. Summit says they ate almost the same piston. Is one just paying for the name? THANKS DY

I'll say yes.
SRP is the lower price piston that JE puts out. It doesn't have all the pretty machine work done to it that the JE pistons commonly do. (Simply turn the SRP over and look at the underside compared to the JE brand.)

They use the same rough forging though.
JE pistons sells them as a cheaper alternative to the higher price JE brand pistons.

SRP and JE pistons are manufactured by the same company. Am not sure if the aluminum alloy is the same on both products or not. The SRP is considered a "shelf" piston, meaning that it is available in popular diameters, ring width packages (most are 1/16", 1/16", 3/16") and rod lengths. The JE brand piston is a very tight tolerance piston and can be custom-ordered in just about any diameter, ring package and rod length.
