Question Stainless hairpins

I built my T-Bucket using CCR blueprints, and made the hairpin radius rods out of DOM steel tubing like they recommend. I am starting my second one, and would like to make them out of stainless steel. Will 304 stainless be strong enough to use, keeping the same wall thickness etc. and will it be tough enough to drill and tap for the heim joints like the DOM steel tubing is?
I plan to use stainless whereever possible, so any information on comparing the two is greatly appreciated.

Yes, but stainless is prone to brittle fracture if the welds aren't perfect, use a TIG welder properly with the correct rod and you won't have any problems.
