Stainless steel valve are fine for street use. That is what I have been running for years, As rifraf said be careful and buy a decent quality (Ferrera, Manley, Milodon) are a few that come to mind, that make/sell good valves.

Was looking at some made by Elgin.A friend of mine builds circle track motors and uses thier cams, but not valves. And not for street. So i'm not sure of the quality.

Nothing wrong with elgin, most valves import and domestic are made by BBB Engine Valves from argentina,of course they make good and cheap valves, everyone just repackages and charges you more for the name.
