That engine is gonna spin the tires every time you carpet the gas.I used a 3800 stall on a street 454 and it pulled away smoothly at part throttle, not that I used light throttle often,it weighed 3600 pounds plus after being lightened and not me in it. My previous auto 67 Camaro had a 4800 stall converter but it had 5.57 gears and it would break the tires loose anytime I passed 1/2 throttle. It weighed 3360 or 3380,forget,and it didnt feel like it was slipping either except when just off idle.

If you race a lot you will use a race converter and race gear ratio. If you race just for fun and drive the car a lot then 3,000 is plenty.
