Stall Speed?

What does it feel like when the stall speed is incorrect?Everything that I have ever built had all components including torque converter matched. I have no idea what it would feel like if the stall speed was to low for the engine.

OK heres the deal.Kid down the street bought a pickup with a modified engine. Truck seriously lacks power from a stop. Has very good power at speed and will put you back in the seat if you open it up on the interstate.

From a stop the truck feels like it is trying to move an overloaded trailer. Still has the original TH350 and torque converter.Rear gear ratio is suspect also.

Just curious if this is typical of a low stall speed.I already feel like a higher stall is needed for his combo.

to low of a stall or a to numerically low rearend would cause the truck to feel like it was falling on its face out of the hole, wich is what you describe. If you had the cam specs or cam part # it would help.

Thanks Dozier768

I didn't post any engine specs because I wasn't seeking a diagnosis.A 700R4 with a matched stall speed are already on the way. New gear ratio will be decided once the Kid settles on the wheel and tire height he will be running.
I was just curious if what I described was a common symptom of low stall speed.
You basically answered that.
