I've got a 3000 in my Willys at 2700 lbs and it is just perfect for the street with 3.50 gears and 31 in tires. Sorta wish I had 3.73 but with the blower you just step on it a little hard if you want to go quicker.

I think I'd take the Vega over to the Cat scale for an accurate weight. It only costs 8 bucks or so and you can get front and rear weights at the same time.
