Post Stalling on corners?

I have a 69 chevelle and when i go around corners fairly fast it seems like it trys to stall. Sometimes if i do a drift or spin out side ways it does stall. Do i need a electric fuel pump or what could be the problem. I think it mostly happens when i am less then 1/2 tank of gas but i still dont think that that should happen. Another problem is when it is pretty hot out and i just filled my tank, i noticed that it builds up pressure and leaks in the front right corner of the tank. this is were the fuel lines come out but i cant tell if it is from the lines or the tank itself. I have one of the locking gas caps and i dont know if that is allowing the preessure buildup to release. Any ideas would help.

Stop driving it that way!.....Just kidding. But really, I think you are on the right track thinking it is in the tank. Pull the sender unit and have a look at the pick-up tube, I'll bet it has a rust hole in it. As far as the pressure, I believe you need a vented cap.

i just bought this cap from Schucks auto supply. It has the key lock, is there any way i can vent it myself. I noticed in the front of the tank there is a breather hose, maybe that need to be looked at. do i have to drop my tank to take a look at my pick up tube or does it just pull out from the front of the tank.

Man, that's a good question (sender unit). I would say, if it shows completely from the front of the tank, you should be able to snake it out of there (putting it back in might be a different story). As for the cap, did they look it up for this paticular car? If the tank has a "vent" line, this should run to a charcoal cannister (california emissions?) if this line is clogged or no longer functional, just get a vented cap. Oh yeah, they make vented and non vented locking caps.

I agree with the rust hole problem, I dont know what kind of carb you have on your car, if it is an edelbrock when you go around corners fuel sloshes to the sides and uncovers the main jets which can cause the vehicle to stall. Hope I was of some help
