Stalling out or something?

OK this is my problem I have an 76 chevy silverado and it has a rebuilt motor and carb but when I try to put a little speed behind it bogs out lilke it's flooded or somthing but whe I drive under 55 it 's fine as soon as I push it starts up agian and cuts off and has a hell of an time starting up then it goes then slows over an over again then I put in park and stomp on it and it goes away for some time then it starts acting up again!Do I need to replace the fuel lines,fuel pump or is it a carb problem I'm lost and boy do ineed this truck I thought it was my fuel filter which I replaced bcuz my tank was rusted out but I had it cleaned out what should be my next move on get this truck back on the road?

I would look for a blockage in the fuel line as it sounds to me like you are running out of fuel. I would start by blowing out the line from the front of the truck to clear the line back to the tank. It should bubble freely in the tank. Is your in-carb filter clean? Do you have another filter in the fuel line? Have you checked the fuel pump? Have you replaced the fuel pump pushrod? Sometimes the rod wears and won't operate the pump. You might also add a small electric inline pump and see if this helps.

I've replaced the in carb filter and the seethru one on the fuel line I'm gonna try to blow the line back into the tank hopefully this will work and get the carb rechecked it was also supposedly rebuilt also well that's what my mechanic told me he did cuz it sure sucks lugging rims and other things around in a the family sedan and keep my fingers crossed that it's not the fuel push rod!!!any suggestions on a small inline electric pump?CHEAP!
