Started a new project!

After careful review of project Camaro, I have decided to send it to the circular file. Just way to many things to fix on that car, being that the frame on the front passenger side was about 1.5 inches off, found this after getting it to the shop and began stripping and measuring.

So the hunt began for a new project and future body for my new 400 SBC that I have been building. After about 100 stops on every webpage selling race junk and car bodies I talked to a friend who just blew a hole the size of a small child out a 383. He still had a 1996 S-10 that needed some love. After a quick 2 beer debate I picked it up for a cool $$500.

So my new project is set to arrive at the shop soon and I will be posting lots of new pics so stay tuned

what I know
1996 S10
hasn't been wrecked yet
RCI 12 gallon fuel cell
Paint sucks
interior has been gutted and only one race seat in now.
M/T slicks
7.5 rear with no gear he is taking the 4.11
he is keeping all electronics, his autometers and such.
nicely installed roll bar but just a overhead loop maybe for seat belts or something.

So any big ideas? I was thinking of going all flat black with weld wheels and a small cowl hood, new summit race seats with covers ,some carpet and a new cool looking dash. I should be on my way with a nice fun little packege to play with.

No I have not but it is the same size as a 350 so it should be no problem. It has been done many times.Good luck with your project.

Just a little update, finally got the motor finished. It took a long time but finally! Dollar by dollar I knocked it out! ! hopefully I can get it in the truck soon. I cleaned the shop today so that I can put the truck in the unused bay. I still need to get a little prep work done. more pics soon

Thanks I've put a lot of work into it. I pieced together that serpentine belt kit from 3 different motors but it seems to be looking good so far. I'm missing a bracket that goes from the tensioner pully to the manifold, it's just a long rod but I'm trying to find a bolt to make it fit. My only regret so far is using this new summit carb, but hey I'll give it a shot. I always have a demon backup
