starter???
Hopefully someone out there will know what I should do... Just last week I had a new starter and a new flywheel installed in my '62 karmann ghia... unfortunately it still sounds horrible when I start it, and it still takes like 5-6 tries for the engine to turn over... any thoughts????

What sounds horrible?? The engine or the cranking?? If its a " scream" coming from the starter and flywheel connection, try no shims, then 1 shim , then 2 and so on.

Ill try to explain it. Shims are like little spacers that go between the starter and mounting bolt holes. They're like 1/16 of an inch in thickness.
