Right now i don't have a starter brace on my car and i think if i put one on it will solve my problems. The question is can someone post a picture of one on a car? Thanks for the help.

summit has them, they wrap around the butt of your starter and hold it up by bolting to the motor mount.

Way to go Larry. You know.... we all costomise our rides... do original things with lights and bodywork, paint etc. But that has always bugged me that anything on an engine is suposed to be shiny expensive billet etc. Whats wrong with doing things original anymore. I make my own alt brackets and powersteering brackets etc. I have also made my own AC brackets for holding the compressor. But I feel this crazy feeling that I should keep my hood shut so nobody sees it. (it looks neat and clean, just not expensive)

SO maybe what we need is a place here to share the ideas we have on making our own stuff. Anything from Tranny mounts and crossmembers that didnt fit. to Holly linkages and spacers etc etc etc.

Thanks for the compliments fellas. I need to mention that it's also a good idea harden the brace if you make one of your own. Just heat it until the steel is nice and blue and dunk it in some water.

That'll keep it from bending too easily under stress.

Hope Novaman checks the thread to maybe get some ideas for making his own stuff too.

Now THAT'S hot rodding. Only improvement I would make is chrome it!! No such thing as too much chorme.

Cruiseomatic, It is B&M Prostick with a Magnum grip. Jegs and summit both have em. I like all the chrome too but i would rather have the brushed aluminum look than chrome.

That's high praise coming from a fella that made his own water pump. Thanks.

Funny you mention chrome. I've been reading about Caswells plating system. That among other things may end up with a chrome finish.
