Starter keeps turning

350 chevy, just put a new starter on and now the starter keeps cranking after the key is turned back to run. Solenoid stcking? I wired it just like the old starter, I just don't know.

What year? It could be a starter relay issue if it has a relay.

Man, what a day. All I wanted was a new starter so I would'nt have trouble like with rebuilt starters. My son tried to swap it with another and they said they could'nt because it checked fine and there was probably something wrong with my truck. So I checked it on the ground with jumper cables and it does the same thing, the solenoid is bad/hanging up/sticking something. I returned it myself this time and got a refund and bought a rebuilt. I guess "New" doesn't have to mean "Good." The new starter was made in China.

Being involved in the repair of heavy mining equipment for many years , I determined years ago that 'NEW' just means 'NOT PREVIOUSLY USED' doesn't necessarily mean it is a good part .
