My daughter's 1989 Mitsubishi Mirage has a starter problem. We have the bolts out but can't get the starter out from the back of the engine. I believe I have to tip the engine forward, but I don't know how to do this. Any advice is welcome.

It's not allways fun to weasel the starters out of some of these cars.....Ha.
A lot of times you have to turn them 180 d.etc and play with them to get them out...Don't forget the secret in reverse so you don't beat your brains getting it back in.
So you want to be a mechanic .......

Ha! LOL

It took me 2 and a 1/2 hours to get it out and it came out on the passenger side and I was seething so much I am having trouble trying to remember if I moved the rack and pinion or the drive axle. I remember it had too much stuff to take off just to get to the bolts. I thought about just unbolting the front engine cradle and dropping it enough to get it out, but I wound up not having to.

My Prayers are with you.
