Starter Rotation for 57 Ford 292 Y Block

I recently acquired a 57 Ford Country Sedan station wagon with the Thunderbird 292 Y Block. However, it does not have a starter with it. I can get a re-built starter from Rock Auto, but they need to know if the starter rotates clockwise or counter-clockwise. Does anyone know which way the starter rotates? Thanks.

I am puzzled here (nothing new). I checked my 57 FORD SHOP MANUAL and there is no mention of a reverse rotation starter.

Fords

Doc here,

Hey, Nows there's a Ford guy...

I've never heard of reverse rotation either except with the possibility of a marine application...

I think your parts guy may be the reason Crayola now puts erasers on the end of crayons now...
