Starter wont disengage

I have a 65 Impala SS that im working on. I just put in a full rebuilt 327 in it, drove it to the gas station, drove it home, then parked it in my parkign space. Been sitting there for a month now. The problem came today when I went to start it up and bring it into the garage to work on it a bit. I start the car up, and the starter wont disengage. As soon as I turn the key off, it will shut off however. I also noticed lots of gas coming out from the fuel filter. A lot of it is leaking out, im not sure if it has anything to do with this or not, but it wasnt doing it before.

So a summary:

-Starter wont disengage
-Gas leaks from fuel filter (as if it was just pouring right out of it)

Any help would be great!

I would suspect the solenoid.
An in line filter or the Q jet type? for in line just replace it,
for the Q jet Teflon on the threads.

Q-jet originel carb?

I agree with rick, vibration will cause the fuel leak, I remember a Q-jet had a metal ring under the filter fitting nut, and when you attached the line flare, you needed to keep the first from loosening with one wrench, while you turn the flare tight with another wrench,
Rust or even condensation, does seem to make starter actuators hang,
Maybe the starter, is a little older than the rebuilt 327.

It has a edelbrock 1406 carb with an inline filter. Its just kind of strange because it was working fine before.. I think im going to double check the wiring (just to start somewhere), and if all that checks out, maybe try and replace the starter.. The starter is a rebuilt starter and was working fine until I went to move it today... We'll see how this goes tomorrow..
