starting problem

when i turn the key on everything comes on but it won't start the engine.
i need some tips on how to solve this problem

You need to supply all the information about the vehicle and what you have done so far.
Does it crank and not start or does it not crank at all

Start by cleaning the battery posts. Remove cables, clean, replace.
Wiggle the shifter while trying to crank. Could be a bad NSS. (Neutral start safety switch)
Run a jumper direct from the battery + to the starter crank terminal. That's the small terminal on the starter solenoid. If that doesn't work the starter is bad.
If that works the ignition switch is bad or NSS or a bad connection is the crank circuit (purple wire on GM).

starting problem

i did that and it just smoked the starter motor so it the Neutral safety switch
but I changed that not to long ago and i think that one is bad to but thanks for all the advice .

run a jumper and bypass the NSS and see if it works.
