Starting Problem

I had put in a new starter and perhaps 3 months later it would not start when hot, but started when cold. I added a ground from frame to engine and a ground from starter to frame where the battery grounds. The starter turned out to be bad. Put a new one in last month. Now I don't drive this more than twice a week, so now I get a click when I turn the key, maybe or maybe not, then it does the click a couple of times, then it starts fine, hot or fine. Any ideas of what going on??

Loose , corroded or cooked battery cable end connector on the starter motor solenoid. Cooked solenoid. Cooked starter. ( headers)
Defective ignition switch on the steering column.
Dirty battery cables. Get a starter motor heat shield and heat wrap this time. corroded ground point.
The only cure for a starter or starter solenoid that is cooked from headers is to replace with new.

Install the ignition power interupt toggle switch I keep posting about and use it to start when the engine and starter is hot.

if you do not have the GM rear starter brace get one and stick it on.

I did put a piece of insulation around it. It is in a 29 ford with open sides and the clearance is a lot. I could change the cables and the ignition switch. I will look in to the toggle switch and the starter brace. Thanks for the suggestions.
