steam out of air cleaner?

hi everyone, ive got a 70 skylark, 350 2-bbl, all stock, and ive noticed that after a 15 min drive or so and i pop the hood, there is some steam coming out of the air cleaner. is it possible that there could be a coolant leak somewhere? or is it just overheating? It is not a significant amount of steam, but it just sort of slowly wisps out of the snorkel part. thanks for your help!

Are you sure the "steam" is coming from there?.........Is there a nearby hose?

Maybe, with a pinhole in it?

Sounds more like the carb is leaking fuel into the engine. It wont be very much as you dont have fuel pressure any more but still enough to see what looks like steam. Usually after an engine is warm you can remove the air cleaner with the engine off and pump the accelerator and see the same steam appearance. The heat of the engine will vaporize the fuel and since you dont have any vacuum pulling it into the engine it will rise.
