steel brake line hardness
Do they make a hard and soft steel brake lines or is it all the same. I bought some steel line and am having a hell of a time trying to reflare the line. I did my pick up two years ago and had to make all new lines with no problem? the new lines are deforming in the holder when I start the flare. Could be just me.

Yes, there are different grades of brake line. Get a roll of the softer stuff. Flares much better by hand.
