How do you identify 15" chevy steel wheels?

The bolt pattern for GM wheels is 4 3/4" whereas most of the other makers use a 4 1/2" pattern. To determine what the pattern is you measure from the middle of one hole to the bottom edge of the diametrically opposite hole.

i want to make sure my dog dish center caps fit for my 69 chevelle.
Buick,Pontaic,Olds and Caddy had different bolt pattern then Chevy.
