steeling out

probably going to get flamed for this but have tryed the search and read throught the hot rod for beginers, but what I'm after is info on steeling out cars but more about pick ups is there any threads on this forum that would give some idea to whats involved?

I've been messing with cars for almost 50 years and I've never heard that term. Might help if you explained a little more about what you're defining as "steeling out".

The term peaked my curiosoty also so I did the good old search thing and found this if it helps. If I am reading it right it is about installing all of the steel components into a 'glass body ride. It must be an Aussie term as the majority of the sites point in that direction....

well i don't know what you people call it on the other side of the world but here goes. i would best descibe it as replacing the timber internal frame work of a car or pickup with steel.
Does this make it clear as mud?

Yea up here us Americans call it replacing the timber internal frame work of a car or pickup with steel.

In the tool bar at the top of the page click on search and then advanced search. When that window opens do a search on "replacing wood". That should give you a bit of reading on the subject.

Or simply go here.
