Steering box clearance issue

I have a 41 ford coupe with a 70's camaro stub welded in ( by previous owner ) with a 350/ turbo 350 . My problem is that the power steering gear box needs to be moved back or lower by about 2 inches to make room for the radiator. I can't mount the radiator any higher to get around this. Is there a smaller power steering unit I can use ? What problems will I create by moving the steering box. Any ideas on how to get around this will be appreciated.

I suggest you modify the radiator to fit the car. Moving the box is going to mess up the steering geometry. You could possibly tilt it some without affecting it a great deal but moving it 2" isn't going to work.

They do have rack and pinion kits but they are relatively expensive unless you can modify a stock rack to fit your car. Reworking the radiator I think is your best bet or moving it away from the box.
