steering column

i would like to what orther chevy car year steering column would fit in my 56 chevy i hope someone out there could help yhanks junior

only another 56 chevy one and whatever other years are the same design will fit, mid 50s years

otherwise modifications will be necessary if its from anything else

Keep your '56 column and bolt a '64 Impala steering wheel onto it.

In that case, take the stick sleeve off, install an AT one in it's place.

Don't have a sleeve for an AT, you say? Fine. Grind the shifter lug off, do a little "body work" on it, repaint and reinstall.

What I'm getting at here, is you do not need to change out the whole column (along w/the wiring, etc.) in order to get to where you wanna go.
