steering column

I need to take apart top of steering column to find problem with blinker switch. I removed steering wheel , but from there i am afraid i will brake somthing if i do not get advice first. it is a gm 1979 column from a Buick. thanks in advance for any help.

I've never taken one apart myself, but if you have any mechanical ability, I don't think you should worry. Just make sure you take your time and be organized about it. Make note of everything you take off and where it went. There's not too many peices to where you should get too confused. The most important thing though is to stay organized. Good luck!

If you have the wheel off, there are three screws that actually hold the turn signal switch in the steering column. You first must remove the turn signal lever and the tilt lever, if so equipped.
