I am using a '89 Camaro tilt column in my '48 Ford Coupe rod. The actuating rod that runs the ignition switch is a problem when mounting the column to the dash. Does anyone know of a column drop that is relieved for the rod to travel as needed?
Note that if you ever need to "notch" something (less than a full hole, and running out the side) but don't have a mill, you can do it with a drill by clamping a piece of similar metal to the side of your part right there next to it so that the drill bit gets a full bite of metal to go down in while your parts ends up with only part of a hole.
A rat tail file and some time will cut aluminum easily.
