It's best to mock it up with a broomstick and a piece of circular cardboard for a steering wheel. Place your seat in a comfortable driving position. Nail the circular cardboard on the end of the broomstick. Play with locations of the broomstick until you find the most comfortable, then mark the bottom of the broomstick about 2" beyond the firewall into the engine compartment. Measure it and order a column that is closest to your measurement.
Ididit and Flaming River are both high quality products. My 34 has an Ididit 32" tilt chrome column with all Flaming River U-joints and shaft.
