i think i would try a electric motor shop, those guys have got lots of stuff like that and probably have the right sized bearing that you need.

I have a '72 chevy truck with tilt steering. Mine has slack in the tilt part (when you grab the top of the wheel and move it up and down about 1/2 or so). Is this the same problem you have? I am about to tear into the column to try to replace whatever is worn out. Hope it is only a loose bolt, but I don't know.. Good luck w/yours..
