Steering wheel interchange???????????

On my 57 F100 I'm thinking about using a wheel from a car that looks better but I don't want to start tearing everything apart to find out what will interchange. Is there a interchange out there or a listing of dia. and spline count? I suppose I could change the whole column but would prefer to just change the wheel/horn assembly.
