sticky brakes

When I'm driving sometimes my brakes stick when I stop but not all the time and at the same time when I'm driving they seem to slowly stick and then I pull it back up while still driving with my foot. Changed the pads and rotorS and had a Mechanic look art it and work on it.I feel like they jacked me because same problems exist.

What car? The abs on my audi did something similar where it would feel like its sucking the pedal down when braking hard. Is this what it is?

Several years ago I encountered this problem on my '56 Dodge truck. Drove me crazy trying to figure it out; I rebuilt wheel cylinders, front and rear, replaced M/C, bled the brakes profusely and still, the problem persisted. Finally, it dawned on me, I had not replaced the old flexible brake hoses. It turned out, the hoses were deteriorating internally (no obvious external leaks could be seen) and acted as check valves, allowing fluid under pressure to get to the wheel cylinders, but not able to return unimpeded to the M/C.

Of course, other things could be causing your problem, but this one certainly gave me my share of stomach discomforts. Good luck with your diagnostics.

Cheers,
Norman C

My '76 Blazer had a strange problem that caused the front brake on the driver side to drag. The bracket attached to the upper A-arm that the flexible brake line goes through had become so rusted (PA truck) that the ID of the bracket squeezed the line almost completely shut. The brake would apply, but would hold pressure on the caliper. Started out almost unnoticeable but worsened to the point that the brake on that side overheated.

Looks similar to below:

I'm most certainly gonna try the flex hoses, sounds more than likely that's the problem! Thanks for input!!!!

Brake flex lines, etc....

If you do replace the flex lines, please let us know your findings, either way. It may be of some value to someone else in the future.

Cheers,
Norman C
