Stipping paint off car - 62 Buick Skylark

What are my options to remove all the paint and take it down to the metal so I can have some body work done?
Soda blasting?
Sand Blasting?
Chemical?

Whats the best way, and whats the least expensive way?

Chemical (by yourself, in your driveway) is the cheapest. Chemical dip is the most expensive. Soda blast is the best (and also very expensive). Sandblasting can lead to warped panels and is not recommended. Unfortunately, only sandblasting will remove surface rust.

Thanks- there is a guy I found yesterday thru a member of our car club that does blasting, not sand. I can't remember what he called it. Something - oxide? He said he would do it for $600 and he came recommended by two people we know. He is going to come by and look at her to confirm the price and I am going to ask him more about the process. I appreciate your response This forum is very helpful.

Be careful. Most oxide blasting media are as aggressive as sand. Successful use will depend on the skill of the operator. Heat generated during blasting can warp body panels.
