stock 350 vortec in a camaro cam advice.

Hi,i just got a stock 350 vortec to put in my 1981 camaro,i would like to know if i should keep the stock cam or ad a l98 that a have.My car as edelbrock performer rpm with a holley 600 vaccum a th350 with 2500stall and 3.08 gears.

is that L98 used or new, i would never install a used camshaft into a motor

cam is used,so i buy a new one any suggestions without changing the valvespring.

you need to chuck the used L98, and you will need to find out everything you can about the motor, it's deffinatly not "one size fits all" when it comes to purchasing aftermarket parts for a motor, you have to know exactly what you are working with in order to figure out what you can buy to get more #'s

find out what the motor came out of year model etc.
#'s off the block, #'s off the heads

if it has the vortec heads you wont be able to use the regular perf RPM intake, the vortec's require a differnet bolt pattern, but you could sell the one you have and put that toward a new/or used vortec compatable intake
