Metal Twister,

I am not sure your Door thickness is the same as my '35, but I have installed Power Bear Claw latches with my original Handles. I bought the kit that Kruisin' Karl suggested and they would not fit-the "boxes" would bottom out before the Handle hole would line up (hope that makes sense)-

I used the Slimline Latches from Rocky Hinge-like these, but Slimline:

then I bought these and cut off one ear, made some Blisters and mounted them on the inside where the Handles Mount:

I used the outside handle kit because I wanted the Handles to return to center after you opened the Door. I then bought some 1/4" rod, heated and bent it, threaded it and used Rod Ends on both ends for linkage-turned out great but it will take a little bit of engineering. I wanted to use the stock inside handles so I cut off the ends and made some threaded Rods for adjustment.

It appears that they have recently updated their website, the Slimline Latches are not listed-give them a call, they are really nice Folks and will be glad to help.

I hope this helps-
