Post Stock 40 Ford Rear Spring pro/con

What are problems or reasons stock rear springs are not usually ran on 40 Fords? Most of the discussions on this board usually deal with parellel leafs, coil overs, airbags, etc. It sure seems to be an easy and inexpensive swap to make some brackets for a 9", and split the wishbone to be in business.
I welcome any comments pro/con.

No real problems. The stock suspension will not 'ride' as smooth as any of the others you mentioned. Car will 'hook' better with the stock suspension because the rear is very limited (basically none)in the ability to roll up by the radius rods and the positioning of the spring.Install a sway bar to decrease body roll when cornering.

I have 1 stock leaf spring 40 Coupe and 1 with a parallel leaf suspension. The ride is very comparable. http://www.chassisengineeringinc.com...5-1940ford.htm

Chassis Engineering make a good kit.
