by itself you will lose usable power in a big truck.
Cam by itself is not a good item to change, usually

thank you i just took the motor apart and it has 882 heads. headers/750 holly carb ,and flat top pistons are these heads worth port and polishing them? or should i get a set of vortec heads i guess the motor must not be stock after all.

The 268H cam is a great upgtrade for your truck 400.
add new hyd lifters. Add comp cams 981-16 or Isky 205D valve springs for max perf.

The heads are the worst of the worst and a waste of time on a high perf engine.
And they are not really worth porting, especially if you have to pay for that.
start with a better head.

Get some hi perf heads with a high perf combustion chamber and high flow ports.

With the cam+ heads + headers you will really wake up that 400.

Any head with a 64ish chamber is a big step up from the 882's
including vortecs. There are tons to choose from.

whoops of your 400 does actually have a flat top piston then look for a 70+cc chamber head.

match a 64cc head up with a dished piston for pump gas on a 400.

a 64cc head and a 400 flat top piston will get the compression ratio a bit too high for practical pump gas use
on your 400.
