stock 400 SBC crank in a 383

Are any of you using or know anybody using a stock cast 400 crank in a 383? I know you can buy aftermarket cranks pretty cheap, but I have a 400 that needs to be ground on the mains about .040 anyway, so why not make it a 383 crank..........Will they handle, lets say..... I dunno.........500HP or so? Thanks

Thats alot of horsepower out of a 383 stroker I run one in my truck and I push 425 on the horse side. But anyway you have to run a 400 crank in a 350 block to make it a 383 stroker. I would recommend buying a new crank if you have to groung it down that much
