stock 400 SBC crank in a 383 turned .030 on rods

Is this too much to be used in a street strip engine? It is a stock 400 crank turned to fit a 350 block, plus .020 more on the mains and .030 on the rods. What might be the RPM and or HP limits? Thanks

I recently asked my machinist if my 400 crank could go 40/40 to save it and he said sure, do it all the time. Apparently there is plenty of meat on the 400 crank for major turning.

Some of the "good ole boys" claim that the thicker bearing shells on undersized bearings blocks good heat transfer to the rod/main bores.

Personally I have run .030 under bearings on race small blocks with no adverse effects. One with .040 rods. I also have .060 under bearings in inventory. Next undersize is small journal std. and thats been done MANY times..
