stock 65 GTO 3x2 intake can buy

I can buy a stock 65 GTO 3x2 intake manf. He wants $450 for it, it is complete with carbs, but dirty and carbs are probably filthy also, but all is there and i see no broken or missing parts, Is this a good buy? I saw one on ebay for $2000 (thats crazy) and it was filthy also....Is 450 a money maker price, (only reason for buying), as i'm a ford guy........ BTW the offer expires tonight.....

Seems high to me, I've owned three '65 GTO's, all tri power cars, and the 3x2 manifolds were everywhere, heck a guy traded me one for my 4 bbl GTO I owned after I beat him at Carlsbad looong ago...times change.

If the carburetors are in rebuildable condition, the average prices are:

'65 tri-power manifold......... $50
'65 tri-power water neck.......$50
Center carburetor ............... $100
Front carburetor.................$150
Rear carburetor...................$150

Total.................................$500

A complete and ready to run 1965 tri-power set up with fuel lines, filter, air cleaners, linkage, and paint is about $1200. You can find plenty of buyers at that price.
