Stock chevy intake 87

Being on a budget I bought an intake 4 bbl from a 3/4 ton chevy truck for the newer style heads off ebay while cleaning it up I found a small crack hairline on the mating surface 1/4" long on the heat riser is this going to cause problems or is it more cosmetic? Thanks for any info.

shouldn't be a problem but you could get a tig weld along it and then file it down or even smear over it with 2 part epoxy resin

clean it very well and be sure its an actual crack.sometimes it looks like a crack til thourghally cleaned.had it happen to me with a carb. the other day.if it is take some kind of grinder and grind just enough of the crack to get all the crack out but not go deeper.then use some JB WELD on it.the metal needs to have a little tooth so the weld has something to adhere to.smooth it out when dry and maybe even paint it.if you don't have access to a welder that is.
