Question Stock column shifter into B&M megashifter

Hey, so i picked up this Megashifter from B and M the other day, i own an 81 el camino and i was wondering just what work i'm looking at doing to conver it... i'm welding in a base to bolt the shifter to on my floor and i know i need a hole for the cable, but i don't know much else about how tight to bolt the new lever onto the transmission (its a 3 speed and i only got a 305cid engine for right now) but what really concerns me is the column, i would like to know how to lock it up so i won;t have any interfeerance with it. thanks much,

I would go to a salvage yard and find the steering column out of a floor shift car. At least the replacement collar to remove the shift lever and then remove the shift tube and levers from the column.

But I guess it would be a good anti-theft deterrent as it will give you a little extra time to catch the perp while he is trying to figure out which shift lever to use...

Does this shifter come with the neutral safety switch? I converted a stocker for a friend in a 70 el camino, had to take the stock switch apart and switch the parts aroound to make everything work correctly. a mild headache but doable.
