Stop Smoking?!

Well, I gave up smoking this last Sunday evening. I smoked my last one at about 6:00 pm Sunday and quit cold turkey.
I have smoked since I was about 14 yrs.old. I am 29 now....that 15 yrs.
I just got tired of feeling like crap all of the time, and wasting money on something that you have nothing to show for it. It has been a rough last couple of days, but hopefully the next days are just gonna get easier
As long as I have my bag of candy to munch on and keep busy, I should be alright!
Wish me luck!
Later,
WEIMER

I could stand to gain a few pounds...besides, I don't have the time to walk around, between working on the S10, working a fulltime job, working around the house and having 2 kids that are active in sports. Candy is just a temporary fix until I can kick the habit. I'd rather have false teeth than a false lung.
Later,
WEIMER

Good luck with the no smoking. I quit twice for a bout 8 years total, all it takes is a weak moment, 1 cigarette and you're hooked again. I thought I'd have just one to ease my nerves after 3 years of nosmoking, I had a personal crisis and the nerves were shot. I will quit again. Dan

It's always nice to see a person quit smoking. It aint' gonna be easy but in the long run it's more than worth it. The best thing is to have people around you that have orders from you not to let you smoke, no matter what.

"Anybody can quit smoking, but it takes a man to face cancer"

You can do it!

Thumbs up u

You've already insured you'll have an easier time than most. Quitting because you're not enjoying it anymore is the best reason and best motivation you can give yourself. Most people quit because they know its not good for them but if you quit because you're truly not enjoying it, then its much easier.

The physical addiction only takes about 3 days to overcome but the mental addiction takes a bit longer. Just keep trying and remember you're doing this for you, your wife and your kids.

i only smoke after sex anymore.......
i'm down to a half a pack a day......

if you don't quit, we'll give you hell.
how's that for encouragement?

Good luck Weimer, It can be done. Sure there'll be tough days, but it'll pay off. Think if you don't buy smokes for a few months, that money could add up to...... say a Blower, or something like that.

Good for you, I hope you never go back.

I chewed snuf for a short while back in high school and got tired of accidently swallowing some off and on and getting sick to my stomach because of it, so I quit within the first year.

I am still trying to figure out how smokers can become so immune to their senses telling them that most aspects of the habit tell the body somethings not right.

I never smoked, and can smell a smoker over a mile away while out in the woods hunting, if that isn't giving you away what else will.

Just think of what you can do for your kids with that money in just a year, and if you were to continue to invest that in some sort of trust fund for them, well you already know.

stop smoking

weimer, just wanted to say good luck on quiting smoking. you can do it. I have quit for 7 years and my wife just completed 6. Like a couple of other people said, put away what you would spend on smokes and use it for your ride. again, good luck.

Good for you Weimer.

My brother is almost 20 and has been smoking since about 13-14, I'm gonna try real hard and get him to quit. I worry about his health and him working so hard - he works 10-12 hour days doing field service on CAT tractors.

Thumbs up Quiting Smoking

Congrats on quiting. Iv'e never smoked and am glad I never started. Friends of mine smoke, and the smoke bugs the crap out of those of us who don't. Invest in car parts, they increase in value and unless they fall on you, can't kill you!!

Enjoy being smoke free.

Good luck quitting Wiemer.

Nicoret Gum does help cut the cravings if going cold turkey starts to get on your nerves.

Good luck man, I know how hard it is to brake a habit.

I wish my friend Jeff would quit, he want's to, but I doubt he ever will.

My grandmother died from cancer, caused by her smoking. It's not a good way to go.

Hang in there man, and I'll understand if you jump on me every now and then.

Good luck man....Quitting smoking is probably the hardest thing that I ever did, and that includes drinking. I was a drunk and smoked about three packs a day and I finally quit both about a dozen years ago. Smoking was the toughest to quit by far. It was like I was actively quitting every hour of every day for over three months. I was hooked hard, but I stayed with it and after a while I could go a few hours at a time with out thinking about it.
You just gotta stick with it and eventually it will be behind you. I know that you'll feel better and it's a guarantee you'll live longer.

Good luck and hang in there, walt
