Street Avenger vs. Traditional Holley

I have a Holley 570 Street Avenger on my 351 W with a C4. It is bored .40, have a Thumper Cam, stock heads (gonna put AFR's on it in the next year), headers, MSD ignition/dsitr., and an Edelbrock RPM Air Gap Manifold. I am not liking the Avenger that much so I was thinking of going back traditional to the 4160 600cfm or 750cfm. Anyone have any suggestions???? The Avenger I have had problems with like stubbling, choke issues, etc. I just feel that the carb is not performing and maybe should go back to the classics.
Any help would be appreciated

I heard good things about those heads. My Thumper Cam specs are 279D (227 at .50) 297E (241 at .50). I also was told to check out those Demon carbs.

The stumbling might be a problem caused by the Thumper type camshaft. I don't have one; however Ive heard from others that a Thumper cam creates some unique tuning challenges for timing and carb.

That being said; lets try to tune what youve got before 'we' collectively throw parts and your money at a problem thats not really there.

True. She is a beast to tune. I have my initial timing all the way at 18 when before
it was at 10/12. I adjuated the air and fuel mixtures all the way in and
then backed out 1 1/2 turns.

AFR heads do NOT need a dual pattern cam.If you are willing to spend the bucks for a" great "set of heads,,buy a Holley "HP",small roller cam with out split duration, good headers, and the engine will scare you.
