The other day my wife and me were out for a drive and Honda Accord pulled up with 4 rather large young kids inside a thumping stereo and big fart can for exhaust. I look over and he gunned his engine and lean forward like he was racing and laugh – well I only say two stickers and they were both for stereo equipment so I figured the race was on. We were seating at a red light with another light less than a city block away. I looked to my left and could see the other lanes light turn orange so I gunned my engine and pull her into gear. The light change and you can the front of my car raise up from the power of the V8 and the weight transfer to the back wheels and race is on. I got him off the line by a ¼ car length and started pulling away slowly but the next stoplight turned red so I figured I should shut this monster down. Looking to my left I realize I was about ¾ car length ahead. Didn’t even have to break the speed limit and shut him down… At the next stop light I looked back over to a red face driver and 3 passengers pointing their finger and laughing – he will never live it down that he got beat by a!!!!

Usually what I do is raise the rpm up in neutral...wait for the light to turn and then idle slowly away after the dufus in the next lane takes off in a haze of rubber.

Yes..If I was in one of my Vettes I would let go as just another Honda but since I was in the 34 Chevy was just to tempting. Yes it does have a 305 probably around 160 - 180 hp and a 350 auto, but it also has a import truck rearend since the 34 Chevy used the inclosed driveshaft. It also has 4" wide polyglass tires with tubes on stockrims. When you stomp this thing the front end raises up -- probably because of the knee action and straight axle but it will not spin the tires no matter how hard you try. Heck we didn't even break the speed limit or 45mph. The look on the passengers face and the finger pointing said it all.

Believe me when you drive old vettes there is a lot imports that would like to add you to their win catagory and probably a lot of them could. But 100 mph street racing is just plain stupid

Here in good ole NC, our finest elected officials have passed a law called "aggressive driving". You don't have to be speeding, not signaling your turns, or any of those laws that are specific and quantifiable by law. Even a finger wave can be interpreted as aggression!! It is a matter of opinion of a Judge and Jury of one: the officer that writes the ticket. Violators can lose their license if in the opinion of the officer it was a bad enough offense. So here, your actions would result in a stiff fine and you would not have a leg to stand on. Also on the books is racing. Any violators will lose their license for one year. Racing can be from light to light or ripping down the road in front of, behind or beside another vehicle.

West of the Mississippi and East of California, Oregon, and Washington looks better every day!!

I've been through parts of N.C. and from what I saw, there were a few places that the only way for two cars to fit on the road is piggy-backed. Dang narrow roads in some places. We also saw some really nice rides down there. And very few (if any) ricers to be seen.
