Post street rod rear end ratio

can any body help.I have a 37 chevy with 350 motor edelbrock cam maifold holley 600 carb high compression head with turbo 350 tranny.the rear end ratio is 3.07 the street rod does not seem to have a good acceleration .
The wheel will not spin at all should i change to a 3.55 or 3.77 ratio

spinning ain't winning!!! I would defimnatly change to a 355 it is a more streetable gear!!!!

YOU MIGHT WANT TO CHANGE THE STALL IN YOUR CONVERTER. GET ONE BETWEEN 1800-2500...THAT SHOULD SOLVE YOUR PROBLEM..

I agree with changing the torque converter to a higher stall. Somewhere in the 2200-2500 range for street use. As to the selection of rear gearing; I run 3.80 and like it very well for the street. 3.55 would be a better choice if you do much freeway driving. If you only drive on the street once in a while and drag race then I'd go with a minimum of 4.56.

One option for the street would be to run an overdrive trans and 4.11's. Greatly improved acceleration, yet still good for the freeway. Good luck and ENJOY!!!
