Well then again if you could run across a th350 that is marked 375B that would be even better because it can hold up to more torque it is a heavy duty th 350 transmisson but do not get confused with the thm 375 that is a light duty th400

Simple answer is a T-400 is the cheapest way to be reliable for 10 second horsepower. You sacrifice weight and the trans brake might be a little slower than a glide of your running a pro tree. Glide might be better in a 2500# or less car but you have to throw more parts at it and a TH-350 to make them as reliable as an almost stock 400, IMO.

You didn't ask, but IMO, you're going to need a lot more gear to get a small block in the 10's unless you're running a really short tire.

Depends on a lot of missing information. Weight of vehicle, cam size, compression,tire size,etc. I would recommend calling a few converter tech lines and asking the tech guys for their recommendations. They will have the knowledge to help you.

tcn71Nova;

I merged your thread on transmission w/trans brake and converter questions into this thread since you are asking the same questions on the same car , same engine.

Since you do not have any camshaft specs, it will be an educated guess on the stall speed converter to use. Call some converter companys and answer their questions the best you can
